Just too pretty for words...
Daisy, Ron and Linda's Golden Retriever, is just about the sweetest dog ever to live. She's just a joy to look after. I was going to let her sleep on the bed but she knew better than that! It was pretty warm that weekend up in Big Canoe. So my assumption is that it was too hot for her - she slept on the tile floor in the bathroom. Then again, she has been know to get so excited she pees on the floor and she was just being kind in case that happened so the clean up would be easier. See, I told you, she is one of the sweetest dogs I've ever known! |

Now that's a well behaved dog!
It should come as no surprise that I love animals. I was at Sunset Rock just in time for sunset (how convenient) over Highlands, North Carolina. It was getting a little chilly so I was moving around - Michael was parking the car. We just drove up there to allow me to snap a picture of the sunset. I managed to get a picture or two of the sunset but I was totally captivated by this dog! He was intent on something. His owners said he was tuned into the dogs barking in the valley. As I edged closer, he turned, stared at me for about 10 seconds and returned to his pose. Now if my animals were only that cooperative! |

I'm June Bug and I'm looking for a home!
GOOD NEWS! June Bug has a home - albeit not a traditional home. She's going to be the office kitty for Mary Jo's boyfriend. And now her history! Jaye and Nathan, being the kind people that they are, took little June Bug home from where they found her abandoned at a dirt bike trail. She is holed up at Jaye's studio while we all hunt for a new home for her. She's so sweet - quite a lot of personality in such a tiny body! She stands around while I do my workout and doesn't show any signs of fear of strange noises or strange people. I'm thinking she's going to be a little diva. She seems around a year old. We're (several of us) are paying for her shots and her spaying operation. |

Back in the USA!
Sandy and Michael are now back in the USA after almost four years of living abroad (one of my dreams I might add!). First they lived in London (sans cats) and then they were moved to Amsterdam. Toby, Mr. Golden Eyes, went to live in Amsterdam with them. I am so impressed that Sandy was adamant that Toby come overseas. Toby flew under the seat with Sandy and she was even able to pull him out and snuggle him under the blanket - of course the friendly skies were no doubt unawares. Then the only issue it sounded as if they had was the trip back into the United States - the baggage inspectors made them take Toby out of the carrier and walk him through the sensors. Poor thing was scared to death! He is a very sweet cat - I'm not sure that I could get any of mine to travel abroad with me! Welcome back, y'all! |

It's Scott and Maddie - and I'm going to say that's Howie!
I promised Scott I had a picture of him that he wouldn't mind being posted on the internet. We'll see - maybe Bob Donahoe will visit my web site again and sign my guestbook!
This was back in the days of Contel and just when I met Scott. What a chapter that was in my life - I still count so many people of that time as friends. Scott gave me one of Maddie's bastard children - well, actually, he gave him to me so I could give my father the German Shepard puppy. Of course, my parents were globe trotting at the time Howie was to be placed so Rhonda and George until my parents got back - they were great foster parents! |

Well, don't tell Robbin but I did manage to get her picture!
Thanks Muffin! That's Robbyn and Muffin - you're not seeing Bailey and Annabelle or Fred for that matter. We had Thanksgiving dinner with them and had a marvelous time! This is the cat that I've heard lots of 'stories' about. And Muffin was a complete doll. Very calm and quiet. Nothing like what I thought we would encounter. Robbyn kept saying, 'She must not feel well because this is so unlike her!' Well, I feel sure that if she ever meets Sybil and Cesu they will be their usual anti-social selves - hissing and swatting at anyone that comes within spitting distance. Robbyn and Fred have two more cats - Bailey and Annabelle - all three of her babies came from Good Mews. I of course have no cats from Good Mews - unless you count Billy and he was never a resident - the shelter was full and the waiting list long when Billy needed it! I plan on getting Billy a playmate early next year. After I reconcile my roof! |

Sarabelle - Pretty as a Picture
Though I've featured Sarabelle before, I think this really shows what a beautiful cat Sara is. I just love the way the gold colors in the picture bring out the gold in her eyes. She's probably sitting on the kitchen table just after Lesley cleaned up after the husband and children left for work and school respectively. The sun warms up that room quite nicely and Sara can bask in the sunshine while she watches the birds and Spike, the beaded dragon lizard that was Sean's birthday present last year. I was just looking at the picture - the way the lights make her eyes seemingly stray in all directions. Spooky! |

How could we possibly forget Misty?
Misty, the wonder dog, is the Kelley's career change dog - at least I think that's how Lesley explains the fact that Misty is the perfect dog. Okay not entirely perfect, she still sheds! Other than that, Misty is perfect. She was in the Guide Dogs for the Blind program in Boring, Oregon. Due to allergies, Misty washed out. And she landed at home with the Kelley's. She is the best trained dog I have ever come across. When she's on the leash, you have to tell her it is okay to pee (and/or poo). She is a joy. And here we were scrap booking away down in the 'craft' room. I let Misty out to 'do her stuff' and alright, apparently I forgot about her (cats are sooo much easier!) and she came and peered in the window to 'gently' remind us that she had completed her mission successfully. And yes, that means, she does not bark! I bet all the neighbors love that dog! |

Sara is a big helper - just ask Lesley!
It's comforting in some way know that others get help from their beloved pets (or as they are known in my household, "kids"). We were downstairs in Lesley's craft room, deep into scrap booking, when Sarabelle joined us. I loved it - Lesley was not as amused! I can relate such as in this very moment when Billy is here 'helping' me update my web site - he's busy 'cleaning' off the desk and sticking his butt in my face for me to sniff. Just in case I had forgotten who he was! As if! Really, does anyone know why cats always seem so adamant for someone to sniff their butts? Anyway, I just love that Sara - she is so sweet. I'm her god mother! |

Louie, Louie, Lou-ie ....
I have never claimed that I'm a much of a singer. So forgive me for the butchering of the song but I greet Louie with that song every time I come visiting. So count yourself lucky that I don't greet you with a song whenever I see you! Michael is the human responsible for the care and feeding of sweet 'little' Louie. Louie is a rescue cat. Leah, Michael's sister, first rescued Louie - I think Louie was dumpster diving but I could be mistaken. He looks far too dignified for that, don't you think? The rest of the animals in Leah's household (not to mention the two year old, the husband and the new baby) were a little stressed over yet another change in the household, so Louie moved from Savannah to Atlanta and set up residence with Michael. And has obviously not stopped eating since he got to his new home. Now I'm with Michael - after all I have a morbidly obese cat of my own - trust me, Michael, Louie has a way to go before he's in Cesu's league! - through no fault of our own our sweet tiny little cat |

Midget just adores his human, Jaye
Are you paying attention Billy? (No, he's not. He's busy attacking my computer mouse). This is a cat who knows how to be social with other humans yet adore the human that administers to his every need. He even does tricks! Like any of mine would even entertain the idea of performing! Jaye is my personal trainer and Midget is one of the two cats that share their (Jaye and Nathan's) home. Midget will usually come and greet me while I'm in the middle of my workout - or else, I'll discover him napping up in the loft bed over the workout room and annoy him until he wakes up and leaves the room for quieter pastures. I'm great at annoying my friends' pets! Jaye and Nathan's nickname for Midget is Pestilence - he's pretty needy for love and affection! I love it! Sybil would be my Pestilence - I swear, if I'm awake and mobile and Sybil is not locked behind the bedroom door, she must be the center of my attention! |

Barking Machines with Short Legs!
That would be Bailey and Sammy - two otherwise sweet little girls that can not stop barking. This time I had witnesses! I know Scott and Ty do not think their precious little balls of fur bark excessively. And maybe they don't when Scott and Ty are around. But it's kind of like kids. Some kids act like angels when Mom and Dad are gone and they are left in the care of others. Other kids act like demons once Mom and Dad back out of the driveway. This past weekend, Bailey and Sammy fell into the latter category - that would be demons! Jake was an angel! Granted, he's an old man that has had his days of demonic behavior! I had to come home on Tuesday night to catch up on my sleep. It will be a long time before I want a puppy - puppies, while adorable, are so much work!!! Give me an older dog (as long as it is not incontinent) any day! |

How's this for a lap dog?
Daisy, Ron and Linda's golden retriever, will love you to death! Her only bad habit that I can think of is she'll pee when she gets excited which is anytime anyone comes to visit. I figure if someone comes to rob them, Daisy will pee on the floor and the bad guy will slip in the dog pee, fall and hit his head, rendering him unconscious. So when Ron and Linda wake up in the morning, they will find the interloper passed out on their living room floor with Daisy's tail just thumping away! Sometimes when we would all meet at Carumba's after work on Fridays (back in the days when we all still drank Margarita's and ate whatever we pleased!), Ron and Linda would walk there and bring Daisy - she would be tied up by the outdoor deck. People would all greet her and she was so sweet! That must feel good to have a socially acceptable pet - all mine are not people pets - though they do seem to love me (or is it just the fact that they realize they must suck up to get food, water and clean litter?!) |

Such a little lady!
This week I'm featuring Connie's sweet cat Violet (Billy, you could stand to pay attention here!). I just got back from Connie's house - she sponsored a Pampered Chef Party for my friend Sheryl who is now a Pampered Chef consultant. It was a lot of fun. But back to Connie's sweet little Siamese cat. She was social with out being in your face - no "here, I'll let you smell my butt" friendly! (are you paying attention yet, Billy?) - and then she went into the living room and took a nap until I began to pester her and not once did she hiss or growl or spit or swipe at me (Sybil, you and Cesu might want to take notes, too). And her eyes are the exact blue as the stripes in the pillows! So very, very pretty. Quite the little lady - even though she's stocky like me! I'm sure she looks at her human (Connie) and thinks, "Poor human - she's so thin! Maybe there is no food in the house! I better eat all I can while there's still food!" |

Such a sweet face - that would be Bailey's face - not Scott's!
