Thank goodness someone sent me these cartoons a couple of weeks ago or I would be faced with yet another week of nothing to put on my index page.  And then we would be facing another streak of no updates.  That would be especially bad since last week was the first time in over a month I had updated.  I can't let my 20 milligrams a day go to waste!  I must be feeling better because last week I actually updated my weblog twice - two days in a row.  All this activity!

We are in a crisis situation here, folks!  My pc is flaking out.  The hard drive keeps losing contact with the mother board - actually I'm not sure what the hard drive keeps losing contact with but I have to open up the hardware box, turn it on it's side and unplug the hard drive belt and then plug it in again.  Right now it's laying on it's side with the left side of the box just lying on the case.  Fortunately, it seems to handle things better on it's side.  Maybe it's just lazy like everyone else in this house!  My pc is about 3 years old - I suppose, it must be time to get another one - Argh!  Or I could just take it somewhere and have someone else look at it!  But then again, I would like to upgrade to Windows XP and I can't with my hardware.  Maybe it'll last long enough to wait for my tax return!  But I really need to figure out how to backup my hard drive to my zip drive so if I do lose this hard drive, I won't lose all my work on the web site.  Of course this could be the impetus to redesign my web site.  However, my track record on web site improvements is not the best in the world.  And let's face it, I would hate to lose all my pictures of my precious cats - wouldn't that just be a tragedy?

Dang!  There it went again.  I had to go jiggle some wires and then communication started again.  It's looking like my pc is going into the shop!  So if it appears that I have dropped off the face earth due to lack of updates to my web site, just check the weblog - I'll let you know if my pc is in the shop, when I can expect it back or even if I can expect it back!  I can update my weblog from another pc via Live Journal's web site.  If it's not one thing, it's another.  I was just getting ready to upload my update to the web site and then my DSL/ISP goes out.  Maybe I should just take this as a sign and go to bed.  I have the beginnings of a cold so I bought some over the counter medicine today (Zicam and Vicks Vapor Rub) so I can "doctor" myself up and go to bed.  Sound good to me - I'll try to update tomorrow!

Weekly Favorites:  Once again, I have managed to select some things as favorites of the week.  How does Oprah do it - oh, yea, she has a staff of many and she merely writes the editorial page once a month.  She could be onto something!  Updated... Saturday, December 27, 2003.
